UPDATE: Highway 19A re-opened after power lines down this morning

The old Island highway is clear again south of Campbell River, after a vehicle incident this morning. Power lines were down on Highway 19A just south of Stories Beach for several hours. Approximately 3,000 homes in the area were also without power, that has since been restored. During repairs, the highway was single-lane alternating traffic for about one kilometre between Sailor and Henry Roads. Repairs are finished and the highway is now open again for both lanes.
