Belleville receives larger allocation of funding for infrastructure project

A key Belleville infrastructure project is getting a crucial fueling of funding from the provincial government. Council approved an amendment that would see a $413,300 increase in the Building Faster Fund for Phase 1 of the city’s Avonlough Pumping Station and Conveyance System project. This funding allocation was achieved by exceeding 2023 housing targets laid out by the province. Initially, the city was expecting to be eligible for $826,700 from the fund if initial housing targets were met, but with the additional funding, it will now receive $1.24 million.
