Water, wastewater rates to be discussed by QW Council Aug. 14

Quinte West Council will have options when considering potential changes to the city’s water and wastewater fees. Council will receive an update at its meeting next Wednesday on the proposed changes, which are in response to impacts felt from a previous water/wastewater master plan, asset management plan and development charge background study. The City’s water and wastewater fees provide the majority of revenue that pays for the municipality’s water and wastewater system and were last approved by Council in 2017. Provincial legislation requires the city to maintain a financially-viable plan for generating the revenue it needs to safely and efficiently...
