Decision delayed on rate options for water and wastewater in Quinte West

Quinte West Council is pushing back a decision on levying future water and wastewater increases on residents of Quinte West. A public meeting and discussion was held during council’s meeting on Wednesday regarding the city’s Water and Wastewater Rate Study. A report from director of finance Caleb DenOuden highlighted the impacts of deferring rate increases and presented four options to council. Option 1 (an average of 5.2-per cent and a 9.7-per cent increase in 2025) remains the same as in the Rate Study, Option 1a caps the increases at eight-per cent, Option 1b caps the increases at seven-per cent and...
