Rezoning for new Belleville Fairgrounds site approved

Development on the site of Highway 37 and Black Diamond Rd. in Belleville is continuing with the approval of a zoning by-law amendment. Council approved a recommendation from the city’s planning advisory committee to rezone the new Belleville Fairgrounds at its meeting on Monday. The subject land was zoned Development Control Zone, but council followed the recommendation to change the land designation to Community Facility Zone and Service Industrial Zone. Quinte Conservation also recommended that part of the new fairgrounds property be zoned Environmental Protection Zone to protect an existing wetland.
