A new downtown market will kick off in Campbell River this coming Friday. Formerly the Campbell River Micro Market, the Rail Yard Market will be used as a launchpad for micro-businesses, with the goal of offering new retailers a chance to scale up operations, build their customer base, and test their concepts in a supportive environment. City mayor Kermit Dahl says the market is a fresh addition to the heart of the downtown. “The Rail Yard Market provides opportunities for small and home-based businesses to learn, grow and scale up to permanent locations,” said Dahl. The city says the Market will have affordable, short-term lease rates, with hopes it can give businesses the chance to get established without having a long-term financial commitment. They add this comes after soft launching the event a few weeks ago, with 4 businesses to be part of the market. Those businesses are The Mossy Coast, Maggie’s Treats, The Tin Can Pottery Shop, and Sinfully Delicious. The market will officially open at 1235 Shoppers Row on September 13, starting at 1:00 p.m. The post New downtown market to open in Campbell River on Friday appeared first on My Campbell River Now.
