Disturbance call results in charges against man involved in earlier theft

Belleville Police responded to a business on North Front Street on Wednesday around 7:15 p.m. Officers were informed by staff that male had come in to the store and went to take a quantity of merchandise without paying for it. The suspect was identified by police but left before officers arrived. Two hours later, the male was arrested at a downtown business after he reacted over food served to him by reportedly spitting at employees, smashing out a window and damaging a nearby vehicle with a knife.
