Fund for charitable organizations in Lake of Bays accepting applications

The Muskoka Community Foundation (MCF) is now accepting applications for its Lake of Bays Community Fund. Lynn DeCaro, executive director of MCF, says the $9,500 fund is designed to support charitable organizations and programs in the township. She explains it can be for an existing program or a new one, so long as it's benefiting residents in Lake of Bays. "Priority will be given to applications that support projects and programs with a focus on youth, seniors, the environment, and access and inclusion related to sports and recreation," she adds. The application is available on MCF's website. Applications will be accepted until Oct. 18. The fund was established earlier this year.
