Collins Bay guard faces charge of trafficking after joint investigation

A month-long investigation into a correctional officer smuggling various drugs, weapons and contraband into a Kingston jail has resulted in an arrest. The probe involving the Kingston Police Intelligence Unit, the Correctional Service of Canada and the OPP-led Joint Penitentiary Squad started in July into the officer suspected of smuggling those items to an inmate at Collins Bay Institution. An arrest was made last Tuesday at the institution and the suspect officer had drugs, knives, and contraband packaged in his possession to distribute within the facility.
