Increasing activity indicated in Belleville, QW crime reports

Recently released police statistics have showed noticeable increases in activity in both Belleville and Quinte West in the last year and a bit. The Belleville Police Board received its 2023 Annual Report at a meeting earlier this month, indicating an increase in calls for service to 29,375 in 2023 from 27,892 in 2022. Crimes against persons was down slightly (848 in 2022 to 838 last year), but property crimes saw a jump from almost 2,200 (2,198) to 2,331 in 2023.
