BC Ferries to support wildfire responders with new booking process

BC Ferries is looking to support emergency responders through a new booking process this wildfire season. The ferry-line says the process, developed with the BC Wildfire Service, will streamline the booking process for travelling and offer quicker loading and priority boarding for responders in the event of wildfires. The goal of the process is to make sure that emergency vehicles, crews, and support staff have timely and reliable access to ferries in the summer months. President and CEO Nicolas Jiminez says supporting emergency responses is a key part of their service. “This new process simplifies travel for first responders, allowing them to reach their destination easily and focus on protecting and saving lives,” said Jiminez. They say this comes as record numbers of travellers are expected to get on board in the summer, with hopes it will help responders get onto the right vessel, at the right time.
