Crisis situation diffused on Bay Bridge

A crisis situation was diffused on the Norris Whitney Bridge on Monday night. Belleville Police stated another policing agency had notified them about a 35-year-old woman in crisis in the area of the bridge, also known as the 'Bay Bridge,' around 9 p.m. Officers searched the area and found the woman who had climbed over the guard rail and was sitting on a light standard near the top of the bridge.  Belleville Police Crisis Negotiating Team members talked to her and peacefully resolved the situation with no reported injuries. The woman was apprehended under the Mental Health Act and taken to hospital for treatment. A notice...
