Prime Ministers of Canada and the United Kingdom Justin Trudeau and Keir Starmer discussed further support for Ukraine in resisting Russia’s aggression. This is said in a statement released by the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada following the conversation between the two leaders, Ukrinform reports. “As we approach three years since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the prime ministers reaffirmed their unwavering support for Ukraine as it continues to resist Russia’s unjustifiable war of aggression,” the statement says. It is noted that they also spoke about developments in the Middle East, particularly in Gaza and Syria. “They welcomed last month’s ceasefire and hostage release agreement between Israel and Hamas and underscored their commitment to a two-state solution,” the statement says. As Ukrinform reported, on January 16, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer signed a 100-year partnership agreement in Kyiv. The document aims to deepen bilateral relations in the defense sector and provides for further military assistance to Kyiv. On Wednesday, British Foreign Secretary David Lammy paid a visit to Kyiv.
