During the EU Council summit in Brussels on June 27, Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy signed a security agreement with the EU. The President of the EU Council Charles Michel announced this on X. "These commitments will help Ukraine defend itself, resist destabilisation, and deter future acts of aggression," Charles Michel pointed out. The President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen repeated his message and promised sustainable military assistance from European partners. "We pledge to keep delivering the weapons, military training and the aid Ukraine needs to defend itself against this war of aggression and deter any future attack," von der Leyen stated, adding Europe is "in for the long haul". European leaders Charless Michel and Roberta Metsola both concluded that Ukrane and the EU share one destiny. Additionally, Zelenskyy entered into bilateral security agreements with Estonia and Lithuania, signing the documents with Kaja Kallas and Gitanas Nauseda respectively.
