India's Preethi Pal captured a bronze medal in the women's 200m T35 category with a personal best time of 30.01 seconds on Sunday (September 1, 2024), marking her second medal of the Paris Paralympics. The T35 classification is designated for athletes with coordination impairments such as hypertonia, ataxia, and athetosis. The 23-year-old Preethi’s bronze was also India’s second para-athletics medal at the Paris Games. Since the 1984 Paralympics, all of India’s athletics medals have been earned in field events.
