Dr. Randy Abbey, a member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Council, has clarified that there are no current negotiations between the GFA and the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) concerning the broadcast rights for the Ghana Premier League (GPL).GBC, a state-owned broadcaster, has previously expressed interest in securing the rights to televise the GPL, most notably with an unsuccessful bid in 2019.The rights were ultimately awarded to StarTimes, who secured a long-term contract to broadcast both the GPL and the MTN FA Cup, which concluded after the 2023/2024 season.Addressing the situation, Dr. Abbey confirmed that while ongoing discussions with StarTimes about renewing their broadcasting contract continue, no TV rights have been granted to GBC."I am not aware of anything with GBC.
