Hearts of Oak defender Kelvin Osei Asibey has expressed his readiness to compete for a starting role in the upcoming campaign following potential arrivals in the teamThe Phobians are actively seeking quality players to strengthen their squad after a disappointing performance last season. The Ghanaian giants finished 14th in the Ghana Premier League standings at the end of the 2023/24 campaign narrowly escaping relegation until the final day when they secured their place in the top-flight with a comeback win over Bechem United.Speaking to Kessben FM, the former Eleven Wonders defender affirmed he is unfazed by the arrival of new players and is open to competition at the club."Players will come and leave. There are old players and new arrivals. Definitely, the competition is going to be tough. Getting a starting role at the club will depend on how you perform at training. Selection will be very tough, but I just have to give my best to win the coach’s heart," he said.Hearts of Oak will face Asante Kotoko on Wednesday evening in the Democracy Cup.
