Muskoka Landing Retirement Lodge celebrates grand opening.

Muskoka Landing Retirement Lodge has opened its doors in Huntsville.  That is according to Community Relations Coordinator Trevor Sykes, who says a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held on June 6, accompanied by festive foods and live music.  Sykes says Huntsville's Mayor, Nancy Alcock, along with residents, family members, and the broader community, gathered at Muskoka Landing Retirement Lodge to celebrate its grand opening on Fairy Lake.  “Muskoka Landing Retirement Lodge will make a valuable addition to our community here in Huntsville. I was particularly happy to see a multi-purpose trail along the waterfront as part of this development,” Alcock said.  Sarah Caswell, Sales Coordinator at the lodge, says despite the delays due to COVID-19 and human resource and material supply shortages, the Muskoka Landing Retirement Lodge is now a reality.   “We could not have built the lodge without broad support from the community of Huntsville, our municipal council, and our residents, who began arriving in June 2023. Today’s celebration is for our entire community,” Caswell added.  According to officials, the state-of-the-art retirement lodge includes 100 suites of various sizes for residents in the main building and 14 lakeside townhouses, creating housing options for senior-aged residents from Huntsville and the surrounding communities.   They say it is situated close to trails, shopping places, and nearby amenities, adding it also has its own theatre, games room, lounges for visitors, greenhouse, and bar.  Officials say the completion of the retirement lodge builds on the organization’s experience in senior care, which began 20 years ago in Huntsville with Muskoka Landing long-term care on the property adjacent to the new lodge.   Sykes adds employment opportunities are available at Muskoka Landing Retirement Lodge for person-centred individuals with diverse employment backgrounds.  The post Muskoka Landing Retirement Lodge celebrates grand opening. appeared first on My Muskoka Now.
