Lockdown over, search complete at Warkworth Institution

The lockdown was put in place on July 30 and exceptional search has now been completed with multiple items seized. Correction Service Canada said in a release that a number of contraband and unauthorized items were found including drugs, drug paraphernalia, handmade "stabbing weapons," tattoo paraphernalia, cell phones and accessories. The CSC said it has strengthened measures to prevent the entry of contraband into its institution in order to ensure a safe and secure environment for everyone.
