RED funding announcement in Belleville includes money for two local projects

A large investment into rural parts of the province was announced on Tuesday morning in Belleville. Minister of Rural Affairs Lisa Thompson was on hand at Market Square behind City Hall to announce that the province is investing more than $5.7 million in 85 projects across the province through the Rural Economic Development (RED) program. There are two local groups receiving funding. The Belleville Downtown District Business Improvement Association (BIA) is receiving up to $57,000 to launch a new program that will support the business community in the downtown core, by hiring a new Public Relations and Membership Coordinator.
