OPP seeking witnesses to serious crash that shutdown 401 in Brighton area

Officers with Northumberland OPP are investigating a serious two-vehicle collision that occurred on Labour Day (Monday) on Highway 401, west of County Road 30, in the Municipality of Brighton. On September 2, 2024, shortly before 8:00 a.m., OPP responded to a collision on the 401 westbound involving a tractor trailer and a passenger vehicle. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and the Municipality of Brighton Fire Department also responded to the incident. The driver of the tractor trailer was uninjured however two occupants of the passenger vehicle were transported to a local hospital with life-threatening and life-altering injuries.
