Swimming competition may cause delays in Gravenhurst

The 2024 Ontario Provincial Open Water Swimming Championships at Gull Lake Rotary Park in Gravenhurst may cause delays this weekend. The event is happening this Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. on both days. Officials with the Town of Gravenhurst say there will be no public access to the beach while the competition is happening. Officials expect over 350 swimmers, coaches, family, and supporters will gather around the park for the event. With that in mind, they suggest giving yourself extra time if you're driving through the area surrounding Gull Lake Rotary Park. The event will feature a handful of local swimmers and volunteers, including some from the Muskoka Aquatic Club.
